I never thought that I would homeschool. Even as a schoolteacher, the thought hadn’t crossed my mind. Once we had our first child, many people would ask if that was what I would do. I enjoyed teaching and just assumed that my children would go to school in the same building I taught in.

Fast forward to today. I can’t imagine what our life would look like without homeschool.

Anytime anyone asks me why we decided to homeschool, this is what I tell them:

• Freedom. We have a right to educate our family in a way that works for us and it feels amazing to take advantage of that.
• Flexibility. We learn every day in different ways. Sometimes we start early in the morning. Other times, we may not begin until the late afternoon. If we want December off, we take it. If we want to work through the summer, we can. We work at a pace that works for us.
• Faith. Yes, we are believers of Jesus. So, that means that it is embedded in how we live our lives. However, we do not use Christian curriculum.

Arrow Prep Homeschool is an extension of our lifestyle. Learning, growing, and engaging with our world in a way that shapes our view of ourselves and those around us.
